Wonder and Play on every page
That is what I try to capture in my lyrical rhymes.
Sometimes they arrive fully formed;
other times I work for months, even years,
just to find the music of a line or the breath of a story.
I believe in things beyond fairies
and find myself chasing these beliefs,
like fireflies of bonnie July.
Only to discover that, somehow, in chasing,
they have captured me.
This is the world I delight in sharing with
children, and with the adults who see beyond
…. or want to.

About my writing
I have "always" been writing in my head. Hoping to have something near to write on before the words vanished as quickly as they arrived. Years of characters or places or themes working in my mind while I cooked, did laundry, or through the many, many miles taking children to school, skating, soccer, or violin lessons. They were always there percolating . Or for a rare treat of a table ..... pen in one hand, latte in the other...... staring out of my favorite coffee shop window. The ideas came and went, and took me through to places I would love to go, and some that I wouldn't. I will "always" be writing, because the stories always lead me …. just like a sailor loving the sea.
About me
Along with writing I love to draw. I have been working the past couple of years to bring the world of fine art and illustration together. My favorite mediums are graphite, charcoal, and pastel. My newest interest is ink.
My background is in education with a BS in Special Education and a MA in Early Childhood. I have spent years teaching children in both of these areas.
I also have four wonderful children of my own who I am very proud of.
I love nature, literature, history, and philosophy. I have a particular affection for rabbits and horses…. and dogs, and kitties, and birds, and ………
I am a person with deep faith in the God of the Bible and this flavors everything I think, write, do, and love.
